Summary

Responsible for providing incredible service, working to meet customer & shop needs as well as financial numbers. Should be passionate about retail, coffee and working hands-on with employees including training, products and customers.

Responsibility

  • Properly set up shop with products and supplies during peak hours, assisting employees and working with a sense of urgency to meet customer needs
  • Oversee that employees are providing amazing customer service
  • Attention to detail making sure menu items are prepared and presented in line with Order & Chaos standards
  • Monitor employees handling of products, use of equipment and ensure shop is in 100% accordance with food safety and safety guidelines
  • Adhere to procedures and make sure they are followed, and shop is operating profitably
  • Assist shift leaders in performing their duties and oversee their responsibilities
  • Have an understanding of the coffee industry as well as sales patterns and trends, utilizing this knowledge to run a profitable business
  • Regularly communicate with owners all important information regarding business operations
  • Understand financial reports and product trends and make recommendations to the owners/finance to increase profitability
  • Interview, select and arrange training of new hires, and manage personnel issues with Director of Human Resources
  • Work hands-on with staff to teach, grow, and allow them to take on new responsibilities
  • Lead by example
  • Embrace diversity of staff and thought by leveraging differences to make the shop stronger, and listening to others’ perspectives and including them in decision making processes

Tasks

  • Book and tracks expenses in Quickbooks.com and online banking
  • Payroll reporting/scheduling through Homebase.com
  • POS management with Shopkeep
  • Track, order, reconcile daily food and supply orders
  • Inventory management
  • Equipment management
  • Regularly work with and secure new products and vendors
  • Work with staff to create seasonal drink promotions

Essential Qualifications

  • 2 years managerial experience at the Shift Leader level
  • Working knowledge of office computer software (spreadsheets, documents)
  • Serve Safe Certified and Food Handlers certificate
  • Managerial/ supervisory experience including but not limited to, interviewing, selection, disciplinary action, employee development and managing financials
  • Demonstrate team building by communicating a common purpose
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Implements positive change and continuously looks for ways to improve work processes; improve workflow by maximizing resources and providing assistance when needed and supervise output ensuring high standards and quality are achieved
  • Able to lift approximately 25 pounds
  • WORK HOURS EXPECTATIONS. Order & Chaos Coffee is open M-F 6:30am-5pm & Sat-Sun 7:30am-5pm. Tentative schedule is M 7am-3pm, Tu,Th,F 5:45am-3pm, W, Sun off, Sat 6:45am-3pm. As the senior position in the shop, the Manager works additional hours as needed.
